One Final Visit

The Wild One if a classic out and back coaster from the master.
The Wild One sends you out flying over airtime filled hills before
turning you around a hundred and eighty degrees heading back where you
came over more airtime filled hills.
The Wild One ends with a really wicked helix that sends you slamming
into the side of the car.
Six Flags America was the second home for The Wild One after Paragon
Park closed in 1985. It was a miracle that this classic was saved
back then and it would be an even bigger miracle if it was saved again.
As we headed though the gates at opening our hopes were that our day at
Six Flags America would be a joyous celebration of the parks existence
but it really wasn't. Looking around you could see places where
rides have been removed. Every coaster with the exception of Ragin
Cajun was running a single train despite decent crowds. Guests
were treating the park like crap like at the restaurants where people
would ask for a glass for water and then stand by the soda machines
filling up with everything but water before chucking the cups on the
ground with none of the employees caring at all. The ride operator
at The Wild One summed it up pretty well when I asked how their day was
going.
