Roar - The American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 41 at Six Flags America, Upper Marlboro, MD

Roar, which is Six Flags America's second wooden coaster, was added to the park in 1998.

With the rides spiraling drops and twisty layout the ride is obviously a Mike Booley designed coaster built by Great Coasters International.

When it first opened some would call this coaster "Roar East" as Six Flags built two copies of this design.  The second one was "Roar West" at Six Flags Marine World in California.

This Roar is the only Roar left as the west coast copy was converted into a steel coaster by Rocky Mountain Construction.

While I like RMC's coasters I would prefer most wooden coasters stay wooden so I am glad that Six Flags has not taken the knife to this ride.
