Fire in the Hole at Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri

All of the beloved story moments are there from the original including Red Flanders loosing his pants to the Baldknobber dumping something on you from a barrel.  What Silver Dollar City and Hirschend Entertainment did was to enhance those scenes.  For example there is a video projection of Parches the Baldknobber running off with Red's pants.  Instead of just dumping something on riders this time it is Bugs dumping a barrel of bugs all over you.  Look around during this scene and the walls are covered with them.

Of course at the end of the ride with the town of Marmaros ablaze the brave firefighters blow up the towns water tower in the hope that the cascade of water puts the blaze out.  If you have been on the old Fire in the Hole you won't be surprised to find out that the new version has the same splashdown finale.

Honestly the only thing missing from the original Fire in the Hole is that old musty smell that it had from years of water damage from wet trains that constantly dripped all over the structure.

As you can see the structure is made of steel and concrete so this Fire in the Hole is certainly built to last longer than the fifty-one years the original did.

With very few people there early in the morning but a few friends of the park, a handful of media folks, and park staff I did ride Fire in the Hole over and over.  What was so much fun was looking around for all of the details that I remember from the original as well as looking around and noting the additions to the story of Fire in the Hole.
