Fire in the Hole at Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri

Of course I did spend quite a bit of the day enjoying my number 1 wooden coaster in the world, Outlaw Run.

If you have ever wondered what's the story with this massive unused tower at Silver Dollar City it once was the station for the Wilderness Waterboggan that opened at the park in 1987.

The Waterworks Waterboggan was a mix up between a waterslide and a log flume.  Like the Mountain Sidewinder at Dollywood you slid down supersized waterslides in a foam boat.  If you look at the top you can see where the slides began.  These went down the hill and splashed down in the Fire District.  It'd be nice if this was open as an observation tower.  Maybe put a few rocking chairs up there so guests can take some time and enjoy the wonderful scenery.

Heading up the hill I ran into the Flooded Mine's Warden.  This actor named Terry Sanders amazingly plays at least five different characters at Silver Dollar City including Mr. Em Balmer town undertaker, Alexander Holsterman the time traveller, Colonel Paisley the town banker, Doc Harris whose experiments lead culminated in an explosive fuel that he dubbed "Wild Fire".  Whichever character he is playing just adds to the experience at Silver Dollar City and I am always looking out for him because he is such a joy to interact with..

The Warden and I had a nice chat as the Frisco Silver Dollar Line train chugged past.
