Hey, there's Kevin and I found him!
Kevin is a Silver Dollar City super fan who is always at the park.
He describes himself like Waldo from the "Where's Waldo" books. If
you find him at the park make sure and ask for a sticker and take a
selfie with him to post on the "I
Found Kevin" Facebook page.
How was the last ride ever on the original Fire in the Hole? This
card that was wedged into the Christmas lights in Fire in the Hole's
station pretty much captures the sentiment. The memory of a
trainload reciting Sadie and Red Flanders lines made all of the sadness
of loosing this Fire in the Hole go away as my emotions switched to
immense joy.
It was a pleasure, honor, and privilege to say goodbye to this Fire in
the Hole. I will be forever grateful being included in this event.
The next morning with Silver Dollar City all quiet we decided to take a
quick look before heading back home to Illinois.
Powder Keg and Outlaw Run silently poked over the tree line...
...while Wildfire sat silently on the hillside waiting for a new
season of riders.
Thank you Silver Dollar City for an amazing season and for including me
in Fire in the Hole's final ride. While the original Fire in the
Hole will be gone the next time I visit I'm looking forward to
experiencing the new one. You should start making plans for 2024
to visit Silver Dollar City like I have.
