Just like the Lost River of the Ozarks that it replaces there are
several spots where guests can get a close up view of the ride action
without having to board a raft.
There are also moments like this where if the waves don't get you wet
this nice downpour has a chance of catching you off guard as the raft
speeds around a corner.
Here is one of Mystic River Falls rafts shooting down into a trough...
...and then bounces up and over the rapids throwing guests all around.
There is a reason why the rule on this ride is you need at least one had
holding on to the raft at all times.
Looking back at all of the rapids rides I have to my count over the
years this is the most aggressive rapids ride since the prototype rapids
ride, Thunder River opened at the long gone Six Flags Astroworld in
1980.
