Where did we find ourselves on a lovely summer morning in late
June 2020? It would be one of my favorite places on the planet:
Silver Dollar City.
Joining me on this trip was my wife Carrie.
Time was part of the reason we were in Branson this weekend.
Outside of heading back in time to the 1880's as we walked into Silver
Dollar City we were there to celebrate an anniversary.
Silver Dollar City was celebrating an anniversary as it is the park's
60th anniversary season. Carrie and I were not actually there to
celebrate that anniversary. We were there getting away to
celebrate our anniversary as that week we passed the twenty-fifth
anniversary of our marriage.
Now the 25th is the "silver" anniversary but we really weren't trying to
be cute and celebrate our silver anniversary at Silver Dollar City.
Our plan was to have something for Carrie and something for me when
heading out to take a weekend to celebrate. With the whole
Covid-19 Pandemic our options were limited this year so we went to
Branson. There we had the park for me and for Carrie we had some
terrain and scenery that she really loves to visit.
Our goal is to retire to the area and build a nice cabin on the side of
a mountain and become hermits. I will have coasters nearby and
Carrie will have the solitude she wants.
As I mentioned we were visiting during the Covid-19 pandemic and it was
not surprising that Silver Dollar City was amazingly on the ball with
procedures, sanitizing stations and everything else to keep the visitors
and citizens of Silver Dollar City safe.
