Outside of needing to go coaster crazy working off our winter blues
Bond and I wanted to go to Silver Dollar City to take a look at the brand
new Fireman's Landing part of the park.
Fireman's Landing replaces the old Geyser Gulch kids play area that was
at Silver Dollar City from 1997 to 2014. It was a giant play structure
that I wasn't terribly sad to see go. Yes it was fun to run though
and play in but as massive as it was and with numerous entrances and exits
as a parent it was hard to keep track of one or more kids and as a safety
sort of a thing that was a pet peeve of mine.
As with Silver Dollar City's style everything in Fireman's Landing is themed
to the hilt.
Silver Dollar City even installed these awesomely modern and handy charging
stations that are themed to fit wonderfully into the late 1880's that the
park is themed to.
While the fire call box may look 1880's it conceals four electrical and
USB plug ins if you need to change your phone, tablet, camera or any other
tech toy you might have with you during your visit.
