Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri

Then the entire worlds went crazy with the addition of Outlaw Run in 2013 and I think it is safe to say that Silver Dollar City has completely turned from a small niche park into a full regional amusement park that draws from 8-10 hours around it.

We live almost a six hour drive away and you don't hear about anyone heading to Six Flags anymore from around here.  Everyone is going to Silver Dollar City or Holiday World which are both more than double the drive.  I don't think if you asked myself or anyone else twenty years ago if two small parks way out in the middle of nowhere like Silver Dollar City or Holiday World would turn into THE parks to visit I probably would have asked what you are smoking but both of their successes has shown what a little passion, a lot of work and making sure all of the rides a park adds are amazing can do.

Rounding things up on the morning of our second day at Silver Dollar City we got up and out of our hotel a little early and decided to go see if we could find any good views of Silver Dollar City's coasters from outside the park.

It is a little hard to get much of a view of Powder Keg or Outlaw Run but on a road that leads down to a few resorts on Table Rock Lake we found a great spot to take a look at Wildfire.

Looking across the valley you can really appreciate how far down the hillside Wildfire goes and how the station is really at the halfway point between the highest elevation and lowest elevation.

Two days at Silver Dollar City was just what the doctor ordered to cure our winter blues.  Bond and I had an amazing time as usual and we are looking forward to ending our season back here in November.  Maybe we will have to make a little ritual with starting out our season with the best and ending it with the best as well.
