I love an aggressive ride like Outlaw Run.
I have to say that we are in the middle os a renaissance in wood coaster
design. It all began in 1995 with the Raven at Holiday World.
Before that ride wooden coasters were pretty plain out and back designs,
maybe a few twisters but they really didn't push the bounds of design.
Beginning with The Raven the boundaries of intensity began to be pushed
and you can take every wicked twisted wooden coaster over the last eighteen
years and they all lead to the insanity that is Outlaw Run.
Speaking of "intensity" here's Outlaw Run's intense double heart line roll
finale from ground level.
I hate it when coasters at the end of the ride slam into the brakes with
speed in excess. To me that is just wasted momentum that could be
used. As you roll around Outlaw Run's seventy-hundred and twenty degree
upward roll you're left hanging there against your restraints with blissful
hang time before rolling out of it and gliding into the brakes.
Outlaw Run isn't just a ride...it is THE RIDE. Yeah this may sound
like hype but I can't even come up with the words to describe what an amazing
mind bending ride this is.
