You've heard of people playing the "air guitar" well I think Bond
has an "air rifle" at hand for dealing with outlaws in this picture.
We did spend most of our time riding Outlaw Run but it'd be wrong not to
spend some time on Powder Keg.
On our second day at Silver Dollar City we and everyone else in the park
headed to Outlaw Run at opening. Unfortunately it was not ready to
go so Bond and I bailed on the line and headed to Powder Keg where there
was no line at all. We had it all to ourselves so we would ride, get
off and run around and catch the next train. We ended up with a bunch
of rides before anyone else even got there. Remember just because
everyone runs for the new ride you might get more rides heading where the
crowd is not.
Ecuador Manta were one of the groups performing at Silver Dollar City for
World Fest. It took a couple of seconds to figure out which song it
was they were playing as we passed but their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's
"Sounds of Silence" while not Andean music was wonderfully played.
Trio Voronezh played traditional Russian music with a dorma, balalaika and
a bayan. They are really talented players and the music was fun but
Russian music is really bizarre. It's really slow and sorrowful then
all of a sudden it speeds up to almost thrash metal speeds then at almost
no warning it's back to super slow. My brain had a hard time figuring
it out but even though I didn't get it they were really fun musicians to
watch.
