Another must do at Silver Dollar City when visiting is to hit one
of their skillets for a meal.
We went for the Philly Cheese Steak Skillet as it is our favorite.
Amamos Argentina was one of the various shows at World Fest. Bond
and I were not planning on checking it out but a broken Powder Keg, my aching
feet and a gentleman outside of the theater announcing that there were still
plenty of seats left lured us in. Bond was pretty unsure about it
so I told him we would sit in the back near the doors so we could bail if
it wasn't that good.
The easiest way to describe Amamos Argentina is traditional Argentinian
dance with drums and weapons thrown in. It was rocking and fun and
after the first song I asked Bond "Should we bail" and he responded with
a "No way" as it was a really entertaining show. Needless to say we
stayed through the whole show and were going to take Carrie to it but never
made it. Hopefully Silver Dollar City brings Amamos Argentina back
because it was the best of all the shows at World Fest.
Another craft demonstration that is really interesting to watch at Silver
Dollar City is their glassblowing demonstration.
They hand make on site most of the pieces in the shop and like when we went
through Silver Dollar City's pottery shop I had to say to Bond "hands in"
as some of the pieces were quite pricey and I wasn't in the mood to buy
a broken dish.
At most parks when you get a season pass they offer discounts on merchandise
but with Silver Dollar City's pass they offer it on food because with all
of the handmade crafts there and being a place where it would be easy to
spend ten grand or more in a day of shopping (a task I'd like to do and
like even more if I had that cash to do on a whim) they'd really take
a bath on a ten percent discount for pass holders on merchandise.
