Food is an integral part of any visit to Silver Dollar City as every
edible morsel at the park is just a culinary treat.
Midway through the day having made our way up and down the many hills of
Silver Dollar City we had worked up an appetite for a snack so Bond got
a Caramel Apple and I went for the Apple Dumpling.
Bond took down his Caramel Apple and then scraped up all the caramel.
I never have had a Apple Dumpling before and it was awesome especially since
it was all nice and hot and they put a scoop of cinnamon ice cream over
it.
Thunderation completes Silver Dollar City's trifecta of superb coasters.
Wildfire is one of the best looping coasters in the world, Powder Keg is
one of the best launched and Thunderation is one of, if not the best Mine
Train coaster in existence.
Like Powder Keg, Thunderation is not very photogenic as most of it is built
down a tree covered hillside but who cares with as good a ride as it is.
Thunderation takes you down the hill, thorough a ever tightening helix and
down the hill some more all before finally hitting the lift hill two thirds
of the way through the ride. Unlike it's sibling Adventure Express
at Kings Island this coaster does not disappoint you after the lift as Thunderation
then sends you spiraling down the rides biggest drop before sending you
up into the station.
