A big part of
SeaWorld's purpose has been conservation. My
question to you is what is the best way to get someone who would never
in the normal course of life come into contact with these creatures to
care about them? Show a documentary on television or get them face
to face with these creatures where a real connection can be made between
the person and the animal and the reality that the actions we make effect
them down stream. Real experiences and connections are by far the
most powerful way to make people understand how interconnected life on
this little blue ball out in the blackness of space really is.
Connections like that is how my first visit to SeaWorld San Diego and
Orlando impacted me when I was nine years old and made me a
conservationist.
Going back those thirty-one years to the last time I was here SeaWorld's
Skytower was one of the parks two rides. Thankfully for the
ride lover in me SeaWorld has added a few since then. We'll get to
those in a little bit because as this is a park called SeaWorld we do
have quite a few photos of aquatic life to show.
Heading into SeaWorld we came upon Dolphin Point where some of
SeaWorld's bottlenose dolphins reside.
It really wouldn't be hard sitting here all day getting up close and
personal with these dolphins.
