Santa's Village Amusement Park, East Dundee, IL

One of the iconic rides of the Santa's Village of my youth was the Snowball Ride.

The Snowball Ride is your standard tea cups type ride with a little theming to fit into Santa's Village.

This isn't the original Snowball Ride as that one was rusted and wore out when Santa's Village closed in 2006. Knowing how important the ride is to recapturing the magic of Santa's Village the parks new owners decided to get a new recreation of this classic.

Starting in the 1990's you could easily see the park slide. Rides were rusty, buildings needed a fresh coat of paint, and you could tell those running the park had lost their passion for it. Thankfully the new owners who brought it back to life in 2011 have that passion and the park looks great.

The new owners have been doing quite well since my last visit. They have put quite a bit into the park including two coasters since 2015 that I was here to add to my coaster count.

The Farmer's Fling is the newest addition to Santa's Village as it opened in 2023. Farmer's Fling is one of those SBF Visa spinning coasters that are popping up at parks and family entertainment centers across the world. Being one of the new adults in my car I ended up spinning like a top.
