With a day full of firsts for Amber I got to take her on her first
bumper car ride. She was not tall enough to steer but I let her pick
out who we were going to hit next. When we got on she was a little
nervous but after our first hit Amber had a massive grin and giggled like
nuts throughout the rest of the ride.
After a long day of riding, pushing strollers, carrying around twins and
the hard work of being a dad a celebratory funnel cake at the end of a great
day is needed.
Here is Bond and my niece Allison enjoying a funnel cake. As she is
a teenage girl sometimes it is hard to get the smartphone from her hand
but we did get her on a few rides that the reluctantly agreed that they
were fun.
Ingrid used to love riding swinging ships like this at the various fairs
and amusement parks around Sao Paolo Brazil where she grew up so we camped
out on this while everyone else indulged in funnel cakes. While normally
I don't pass up a good funnel cake I was fasting a bit as we were heading
off to
Portillo's (a Chicago institution
- amazing hot dogs, Italian beef and Italian sausage) in a short while.
All around Santa's Village with the whimsical buildings, Christmas trees
and candy canes are scores of concrete mushrooms. Bond decided to
use one of them as a little seat.
