The Giant Dipper just flew around the track with several
wonderful moments of airtime followed by head choppers as the train
dives down into the structure.
The only moment where the Giant Dipper slows down is on the second
turnaround. That is just a moment of peace to lull you into a
false sense of security before diving into the bowels of the boardwalk
for the second lap of the ride.
The lower level of the Giant Dipper is just pure perfection. It
reminded me of the second half of my beloved Texas Cyclone that I spent
my teenage years riding at Six Flags Astroworld in Houston.
Surrounded by the structure while being thrown up and down as posts
whizz by in a blur I was completely flashing back to that long lost
corner of Texas and it was wonderful.
Taking a break from the Giant Dipper for a while. Remember when I
said that there were plenty of freaky people at Santa Cruz? Well
here is one of them enjoying the parks sky ride.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has a wonderful mix of rides from modern
rides like their tower ride to this classic Everly Aircraft Company
designed Rock-O-Plane.
