If you are going to have a traditional lakeside amusement park a carousel
is a must.
While Quassy's original carousel that existed at the park from 1919 until
1989 is long gone due to the high cost of maintenance and insurance for
a hand carved classic carousel this modern carousel fills in and gives young
and old riders a great whirl.
For most of Quassy's life the two big draws were the beach for the daytime
and the ballroom for once the sun went down. With the demise of dance
halls and live dance music the parks ballroom was turned into an arcade.
If you look down past the games you can still see the old dance floor where
thousands of couples spent their summer nights whirling to the music.
Quassy has a nice train that takes you around the back of the park.
After a couple of hours Bond and I were in love with Quassy. It is
a perfect place to go and spend a nice summer evening.
