During Old Chicago's existence it spent more time as a boarded up
eyesore, than it spent open.
The once lively site sat silent as the years went on.
After failed proposal after failed proposal to turn the massive building
into a concert hall, the new Wrigley Field for the Cubs, a movie studio,
and even an international trade center for China, it became obvious that
nothing was going to happen to the massive structure.
The streets of Old Chicago that were once filled with vendors, shoppers,
and life had gone silent.
The food court had long since served it's last patron a meal and a thick
layer of dust covered everything.
