The New for 2027 Oasis at Lakeport Amusement Park at Osage Beach Missouri

In my last fifty + years of watching the amusement park industry if you counted the actual number of announced new parks compared to the number of parks that actually break ground is something like fifty to one. When Oasis at Lakeport in Osage Beach, Missouri was announced back in 2002 I was cautious but a bit optimistic because an entertainment district with rides, shopping, dining, hotel, and entertainment that the whole family could enjoy together is just what the Lake of the Ozarks area needs.

For those who don't know Lake of the Ozarks is a massive man made lake in central Missouri that has become quite the vacation spot. The area has plenty of places to stay, lots of bars, lots of restaurants, of course the lake, but there really isn't anywhere else to go, especially for the whole family. This is what Oasis at Lakeport intends to develop. By the way the entire development is called Lakeport and will consist of an indoor water park, shopping, dining, and the theme park part of the development is called Oasis.

Getting Oasis at Lakeport off the ground and really going vertical has really been hard. My route down to Silver Dollar City takes me right by Oasis' location and over the last couple of years progress has been super slow with mostly clearing the site and doing a lot of ground prep work.

A big reason as to why this development has been slow to go vertical was due to purchasing the property for the park. Lake of the Ozarks is a massive vacation destination with condos, hotels, and timeshares lining the shores. Part of the twenty-five acres needed to create Oasis at Lakeport was a timeshare complex. With each unit of the time share complex having dozens or more owners acquiring the property was a Gordian knot of real estate deals to get squared away before construction could go full swing. Oasis' real estate attorneys certainly earned their keep getting all of the land free and clear.

On my last drive by here in April the only signs an amusement park was coming were a couple of towers for a slingshot ride and a whole lot of footers for Oasis' two coasters.

In the last four months rides have really shot up like corn in the summer heat. Right now there are two towers for a slingshot, the tower with the rotating beam is going to be a ride called the Propeller; which is a Booster Maxxx ride by Fabbri Rides, The Plunge; which is the green and white tower will be a rotating drop ride, and then you can see yellow and blue coaster tracks. Oasis is also supposed to have a massive Ferris wheel and several other rides that haven't gone vertical yet.
