On the Silver Comet's low runs the coaster flies over it's little
hills sending you flying up into your restraints.
Speaking of restraints my only criticism of Martin's Fantasy Island is their
insane loading policy and restraint check.
No the train is not being held up. After the death on Ride of Steel
at nearby Darien Lake the other year due to a rider not being properly secured
(the rider in question had no legs so the lap bar didn't lock him in and
he flew out of the train as a result) Martin's Fantasy Island decided to
get as pro-active as possible in making sure that their guests are locked
down and safe.
When you take a seat you are instructed to lock your seat belt but not to
touch your lap bar. The lap bars are to be lowered only by the qualified
ride operators who have been specially trained to make sure you have a safe
and enjoyable time at the park. What was insane was that the ride
ops weren't lowering the restraints down nearly enough. They pushed
the lap bar down two clicks so that it was barely locked leaving me 6 inches
between it and my lap. Yeah it was nice to have the room to fly for
a pro like me but a couple of inches of space would be much more safe and
reasonable. It wasn't just the adults who were left with restraints
that weren't that restraining. I ended up pushing down Bond's
lap bar with it locked down by the ride operator just two clicks it was
unsafe. If you want to make sure people are locked down then actually
lock them down.
Oh, while I don't mind the park wanting the restraints locked down by their
ride operators please move fast enough so that the rides loading doesn't
take twice as long as the ride itself.
Hi we'd like to exchange out Canadian for a new one.
