What really builds the suspense and excitement for those who
are heading to Dragon Mountain for a ride is you really don't see
much of the ride at all except for a few brief glimpses of it on the hills
above you.
Give it a few more years and all you'll be able to see of Dragon
Mountain is the final loop as the ride will be completely covered in
foliage.
Dragon Mountain's finale like most of the ride is an one of a kind.
After the falls portion of Dragon Mountain you traverse another long
tunnel before emerging beneath the pathway to
the ride. There you enter what is called a "Bowtie" element.
It is similar to a "boomerang" but instead of exiting the two loops
the reverse of the direction you entered it on the bowtie you exit
the element going the same direction you were going in
the first place.
The top of the Bowtie loops was one of our favorite moments on Dragon Mountain for us as
you have some wicked hang time as the train slowly made its way
through the tops of these loops. It is entirely possible that our
slow speed and hang time was due to having completely empty trains
but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Speaking of hanging you can see
Bond in the front seat just hanging there.
