If you enjoy spinning around and around and around and around again
and again then the Toboggan is the ride for you.
Growing up in the 1970's you used to see these in grocery store parking
lots all across suburbia as they were quite popular with traveling fairs
and carnivals. Time and a life on the road of being set up and taken
down that Chance sent off of the assembly line in Wichita, Kansas and only
two remain.
The reason the cars for the Toboggan are so claustrophobic and all enclosed
is had the car not been covered and windows all screened in a rider could
easily reach out and grab the lift or any of the parts of the structure
that are inches away from the car.
If you are numbed or nauseous from the endless downward spiral of the Toboggan
you need to hold on as it has a doozy of an ending. This quick dip
slams you down and whips your head forward. Prepare for it or you
will end up slamming your head into the chicken wire window in front of
you.
While not the most pleasurable ride the Toboggan is a neat little historical
coaster side note. It would be interesting to see some company build
a modern coaster on a trailer for fairs. If they do I hope they trick
it out with a ton of lights like the Toboggan.
