Sitting back in the train station is what looks like a coaster car.
It is not quite a coaster car but it was made by a coaster manufacturer.
National Amusement Devices sold these train cars and the car design was
lifted from their coaster train designs. This train has certainly
seen its day but it would be cool if someone could restore it even as a
display piece.
Before finishing our visit to Lakemont the guys had to fop on Twister to
see if they could really get the car to spin.
We had a great day at Lakemont Park and I was a bit surprised to have the
park as empty as it was. Not much has changed with it in the sixteen
years since I last visited and that probably has a little bit to do with
it.
It would be nice seeing a little investment here as it is obvious that there
is a demand for a park in the area as DelGrosso's park fifteen miles away
was packed. Updating the water park and a few more spinning and kids
rides would be a great start. Lakemont Park costs $10 to enter which
is a great value in this day and age. Mix that ticket cost and a few
new attractions and I could see Lakemont do well.
In the end though we had a great time at Lakemont Park. The Skyliner
is amazing, we got a surprise coaster credit on the Little Leaper and Leap
The Dips was a one of a kind window into the past that everyone should ride.
If you are in the area you can't beat a day at a park for $10 and you can't
beat a ride on Leap The Dips.
