To go along with the Civil
War heritage of the area one of the trains is painted blue and the other
is grey. US soldiers wore blue and the Confederate soldiers bleached
the uniforms they had until they were grey.
The Cannon Ball is one of the
few wooden coasters built in the 1960's which was a very dry period
of coaster building.
Here's the great view you get
at the top of the Cannon Ball's 70 foot lift hill.
The great John Allen of designed
the Cannon Ball as your basic out and back coaster with plenty of airtime.
Another train heads on down
for a great ride! Lake Winnie's train goes right under the drop
and in the background is a bunch of wood. The Cannon Ball needs
a bit of TLC and hopefully the wood is for some over the winter.
