You might be asking "Why such a long name when just Colossus will do"?

The Colossus The Fire Dragon Roller Coaster at Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington, Utah

It originally opened as just Colossus in 1981 when this portable coaster was on the fair circuit in Europe.

Lagoon kept the name Colossus when it came to Utah in 1983 but added the Fire Dragon just so guests wouldn't confuse this Colossus with the Colossus wooden coaster that was at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
