The Roller Coaster at Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington, Utah

Lagoon's Roller Coaster stands at sixty-two feet tall and while most modern thrill machines make it look puny don't let the Roller Coaster's age and diminutive size fool you.

Lagoon's Roller Coaster is a double out and back layout that wraps around itself with high turnarounds and plenty of airtime inducing hills between the turns.

Roller Coaster's turns are high and relatively slow so the guide wheels from Miller's Patent 1,319,888 don't get much of a workout but with some serious jolts of airtime going over hill after hill the upstop wheels certainly take a beating.

Older locals refer to the Roller Coaster as the "White Roller Coaster" because like many older coasters the wood was painted white to protect it from the elements.

The thing is modern treated lumber doesn't need a covering of paint in order to help make it last out in the elements.  As with any wooden coaster over time the rides wood gets slowly replaced and Lagoon decided to skip the paint and leave the coaster au natural colored.  Give it a few years and the old white painted wood will be all gone.
