The Puff The Little Dragon roller Coaster at Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington, Utah

What does a park do with a ballroom that used to host the likes of The Doors, Janis Joplin and the Beach Boys when there are no more dances to be had or music to be played?  Lagoon turned part of the old Patio Gardens building in to an arcade and the other part of it in 1974 was turned into Dracula's Castle.

Dracula keeps a close watch over all of those who dare to line up to enter his castle even during daylight hours.

I do have to say that the cars for Dracula's Castle look a little bit more Back to the Future-ish.  Maybe we are going "Back to Transylvania"?

Dracula's Castle is a classic dark ride with creepy scenes, things that jump out at you and plenty of darkness.

When walking around outside of Lagoon taking photos I did notice this interesting structure right by Lagoon's entrance.  It is a weird sort of thing to have built on the back of Guest Relations until I realized that Lagoon used to have a Fun House back in the day and this is the old slide from it.  I have to wonder if when things get boring in the offices do workers take it for a slide.

The Terroride at Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington, Utah

Speaking of a fun house Lagoon has two classic dark rides as in addition to Dracula's Castle there is also the Terroride.  It was being refurbished and not quite ready to frighten guests for this season so we will have to take it for a ride the next time we visit Lagoon.
