The Dragon rollercoaster at La Ronde, Montreal, Quebec

Once La Ronde opened for regular operations our goal was simple, we wanted to score all of the coasters we hadn't been on already starting with the parks low capacity coasters.

The Dragon is kind of hidden at the park's east end tucked in at the end of a dead end.  I wasn't really sure what to expect from this indoor family coaster.  The Dragon ended up being a real joy of a ride.  It was added to La Ronde in 1994 and was designed by Intamin.  There is some really cool theming including a nice run in with a huge dragon and the ride itself is really fun.

I have to kick myself now because I didn't take La Ronde's carousel, Le Galopant for a ride.  You see it is the worlds oldest galloping carousel that first ran back in 1885.  The horses on Le Galopant don't go up and down but they rock forward and back as the carousel goes around.  Six Flags painstakingly restored this classic in 2007 and with care it should still be running in 2085 when it will be 200 years old.

With a seasoned crew of coaster enthusiasts we sped between rides at La Ronde like a horde of pillaging Vikings hitting ride after ride.

Just a warning if you get a bunch of coaster enthusiasts together we get silly.
