Le Cobra Rollercoaster at La Ronde, Montreal, Quebec

Le Cobra like the coaters apt namesake does plenty of twisting in and around the rides 2,575 feet of track.  It is not my favorite stand up but this Intamin design is by far the best stand up coaster in Canada.

It was interesting walking around La Ronde with buildings left over from Expo '67 scattered all over the site.  I kind of enjoy the quasi-futuristic architecture from the 1960's and this building fits the bill.

I had to get closer to see what it actually was as it does not look like La Ronde is using it for anything maybe other than storage for the moment.  It turns out that after the fair this became the Montreal Aquarium.  It had dolphins and other marine life but due to its small size and a bunch of negative publicity over the years including half of the Aquarium's dolphins starving to death due to a strike by workers it finally closed doors in 1991.

We  had an awesome weekend in Montreal with all of the Negative-G Crew.  It was great getting to be there as Paul and Adriana began their lives together and it was also great getting to really party it up with everyone.  There are many stories from this weekend that will be told for decades.  We don't get together as often as we'd all like being spread out across a continent but when we get together we make sure to get the most out of it and we sure did get everything out of our time in Montreal.

We came, we saw, we rode, we partied, we conquered La Ronde.  Time to head on to the next adventure.
