HangTime was added to Knott's Berry Farm in 2018. It sits
on the site of two previous coasters. From 1990 to 2017 a Vekoma
Boomerang called aptly "Boomerang" sat here. More importantly
though this is the site where Knott's groundbreaking Corkscrew coaster
sat from 1975 to 1989. Knott's Corkscrew was the first modern looping
coaster. It was the first of the Arrow Dynamics "Corkscrew"
coasters that were built from 1975 to 1983. Knott's
Corkscrew is still around as it found a second life in Idaho at
Silverwood Theme Park.
HangTime is a Gerstlauer "Infinity Coaster" which is just a larger,
higher capacity version of that manufacturer's compact "Eurofighter"
coaster model.
HangTime has the perfect name as you certain have plenty of hang time on
the ride.
After a hundred and fifty foot tall vertical lift HangTime starts down
this incline where the train comes to a stop and just hangs there
until...
...the brakes release and you plunge over the edge and head...
...straight down. If you have long hair you might want to pack a
brush if you are going to visit Knott's Berry Farm and ride HangTime.
