Knoebels Amusement Resort, Elysburg, Pennsylvania

I am a coaster and amusement park history geek and one thing you will notice as you walk around Knoebels is they are too.  The park is filled with classic rides and Knoebels has signs all over sharing with you the history of their park and rides.

Knoebels are such amusement park and coaster history geeks they spent seven years bringing back to life the Flying Turns.

Here are Paul and Adrianna taking Flying Turns for a ride.

The Knoebels Flying Turns is a faithful recreation of a ride known as the Flying Turns.  Built from 1929 until 1939 there were just a handful of these rides.  The idea came from an ex pilot named Norman Bartlett who wanted to simulate the sensation of flying with lots of twists and turns.  The ride sensation is more like a bobsled and if you like whipping back and forth feeling out of control then you will LOVE the Flying Turns.

Here is John and Kate, or is it Brittany?  I am completely horrible with names and with the two of them being identical I have a 50/50 chance of being right.

I did get a hold of Paul and he told me that it is Brittany in the back of the train and Kate in front of her.
