Knoebels Amusement Resort Elysburg, Pennsylvania Phoenix Phall Phunfest 1999 Page Ten
Here is one of the reasons that I have been itching to head to Knoebels the wonderful recreation of John Allen's Twister. Here's a shot of the first drop. Check out the spaghetti bowl of track that you'll traverse...cool!
One of the neat things Knoebels did to make this huge ride fit their limited site was to have a scissor lift. That means you go up one lift and turn around and then go up another lift right above the previous lift. Here's a shot of the first lift buried in the structure of the first lift.
One thing that
the Twister is famous for is the double helix that surrounds the station.
It really gives an out of control ride around and around. After
the helix you spend your time racing through the structure of the coaster
and through a tunnel before returning to the station.
