It is great being able to see a train load of screaming people speed past you while you're walking on the midway. I like the interaction between the ride and those not riding. It just adds to the atmosphere of the park.
Yes I took a lot of photos of the Vortex but it is just so photogenic.
Discussing rumors like coaster enthusiasts do when we all get together the word was going around that The Vortex's years are numbered. I can't see it because it has been kept in fantastic shape and there's always people getting in line to give it a ride.
By the end of the day all of us were wearing down waiting for the final rides of the season on The Beast. I didn't know it but its tradition for all of the enthusiasts to wait around for the park to clear out on the last day of the season so that the park can give us a mini exclusive ride time to end our season on The Beast at its best...in the dark.
