Here's one last shot of Vortex before we continue our day at Kings
Island.
One quick rant here though. I'm glad I don't have to call it Paramount's
Kings Island anymore not only because it was a lot of typing but because
I'm glad they don't own the parks anymore. I mean they really didn't
do much that was great with the parks. Yeah Italian Job was neat but
it kind of falls in the ok part of the scale instead of the "WOW"
part which Kings Island has needed in a ride. Heck, the last really
hyper-impressive ride they added was Vortex which was the stuff back in
the mid to late 1980's. Everything Paramount added was more of a lame
movie tie in than a great ride so it's nice that Kings Island is back to
being Kings Island.
With Vortex behind us we were all off to have some fun on The Racer.
The Racer was Bond's 32nd coaster overall and 12th wooden one.
The Racer in an awesome twin tracked out and back coaster designed by the
great John Allen of the Philadelphia Toboggan Company back in the year I
was born, 1972.
