The Vortex is a mega-looping
coaster built by Arrow Dynamics in 1987.
Unlike most of the Vortex's
brethren it doesn't dive right into a series of loops right after the
first drop. That's one of the reasons it is my favorite of the
Arrow mega-loopers that are sadly starting to disappear from the amusement
park landscape.
An interesting thing about
Arrow's looping coasters is that most of their loops are the exact same
size and shape just elevated at different heights to handle various
speeds.
After The Beast we were off
to grab a ride on The Italian Job Stunt Track before its line filled
up. I had to grab a photo of this lady in line sitting on the
railing as right behind here is a sign that says "No Sitting On
Railing".
