The old Coney Island area is a great
part of the park with many flat rides like the carousel, bumper cars
and the flyers as well as several coasters.
One of the rides I have become addicted
to over the past few years are the flyers. There's just something
about them that is perfect. Now if I could only get over my motion
sickness so that I could be able to do some aerobatics on this.
The Troika is one of those classic
spinning rides that look great but I just can't ride. I don't
know what it is but spinning rides and Imax theatres just give me intense
motion sickness.
The center piece of the Coney Island
area is the great John Allen designed Racer. This is the coaster
that launched the coaster boom and brought wooden coasters back into
the limelight.
The Racer is a great out and back
coaster with a decent amount of airtime. In my previous visits
to Paramount's Kings Island this was super rough but as of this year the Racer is riding pretty
well and is an enjoyable ride.
