The American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 41 at Kings Dominion, Doswell, Virginia

Once the rain drove the temperature down our first evening at Kings Dominion was a pleasant time.  The day was capped off with ERT on Anaconda, Avalanche, Backlot Stunt Coaster and Intimidator 305.

Coming back for the second day of Kings Dominion and fourth day of Coaster Con 41 we were ready to ride.

On the plate for this morning was ERT on Detonator.

Detonator is a fun B&M floorless coaster that used to sit over the waters of Geauga Lake before moving here in 2008.

I like Detonator but it really doesn't fit in with Kings Dominion.  Coming from Geauga it was not built for this location and with little landscaping around it it comes off as a version of a "parking lot coaster"  that one used to see at Six Flags Parks that were built over parking lots with the spaces left under the ride.  At least Kings Dominion put some dirt and grass under the coaster but it just stands out like a sore thumb in comparison with the rest of the park.
