Last year I had a great time visiting Kentucky Kingdom but this time was
so much better having both Bond and Travis along to experience it with.
Rides are great and they help make amazing memories but when you can add
people that you care about and have fun with into the mix the whole
experience is elevated to a new level.
If this visit was by myself I would have gad a great time but with Bond
and Travis, AND with Kentucky Kingdom finally being operated by a
company that is all about making great experiences I can honestly say
that this visit was my best visit to Kentucky Kingdom EVER!
Both during the Ed Heart and Six Flags years of Kentucky Kingdom if you
had an ok day at the park that was the exception as most visits ranged
to horrible to mediocre. It was not that the rides were bad but no
one working at the park gave a damn. If there was trash on the
ground, no one cared. If the rides took forever to dispatch
because ride operators moved at the speed of molasses, no one cared.
If guests weren't having fun, no one cared. Not caring was the
standard at Kentucky Kingdom and that isn't how it is anymore.
Back in the day when we lived in the area
Holiday World was the gold
standard for park employees caring about guests having a good day and
working hard to keep the lines moving as fast as possible. It kind
of shocks me to say it but Kentucky Kingdom is really knocking at
Holiday World's door when it comes to fun, engaging, hard working, and
amazing employees.
To end our visit to Kentucky Kingdom here is my favorite picture
of Lightning Run. The return run to the station fives Magnum
XL-200 a run for the money with insane airtime.
Even though the Flying Fox wasn't up our visit to Kentucky Kingdom was a
phenomenal first stop on our four day/four park trek across the country.
All three of us had a great time and all I can say is if you haven't
visited Kentucky Kingdom grab a few of your favorite people and plan a
trip.
