Steel Curtain was our objective and we were ready to go.

Steel Curtain; which is themed after the Pittsburgh Steelers legendary
defensive line from the 1970's, has been a tough coaster to get on since
it opened in 2019.

Steel Curtain, being a prototype coaster from S&S, has had more than its
fair share of issues that have kept it down for a significant amount of
time. First there was 2020 when the whole world shut down due to
the pandemic. In 2022 and 2023 it was closed for several lengthy
periods due to maintenance issues which was followed by the coaster
being closed for the entirety of the 2024 season. What happened
with Steel Curtain that lead for such an extensive down time for such a
new ride?

It turns out that Steel Curtain's issues had to do with the rides
structure moving a bit more than intended. As a result S&S came in
and spent a year addressing the issues which included modifying the
rides structure with a few additional footers and adding a significant
amount of extra supports throughout the ride. The park stated that
the modifications were necessary to make sure that Steel Curtain is able
to thrill riders for the rides intended lifespan.

After quickly taking you up two hundred and twenty feet Steel Curtain
kicks things off with a sort of corkscrew that is pretty reminiscent of
the first drop/inversion on the Arrow Dynamics designed Drachen Fire
that ran at
Busch Gardens Williamsburg from 1992 to 1998.
