Next to the Auto Race is the
Old Kennywood Railroad. The train takes you along the edge of
the bluff that the park sits on and past several scenes depicting local
history like the Homestead Steel Strike as shown here.
The Old Kennywood Railroad
is a nice way to give your feet a rest while at Kennywood.
Laughin' Leena is the legendary
long term resident of the Old Kennywood Railroad's station. I'm
not so sure what she's laughing at but it must be pretty good because
she just won't stop.
The Bayern Kurve is a classic
ride that's a bit newer than some of Kennywood's other rides.
The Kurve is kind of like a
rollercoaster. It has a circular track and the cars are powered.
They zoom around and around going extremely fast. These rides
used to be all over in the 1970's but are slowly disappearing from the
amusement park landscape.
