The Thunderbolt has been called
by many "the ultimate rollercoaster" and while I don't consider
it the ultimate it is a decent coaster.
The Thunderbolt was created
from parts of the Pippin rollercoaster including it's drops into the
ravine as well as it's classic and extremely comfortable trains that
were made by the National Amusement Device company.
The Thunderbolt's station sits
at the edge of a pretty deep ravine and it uses that to it's benefit.
The Thunderbolt doesn't start out with a lift, instead you dive right
out of the station into the ravine.
After going down, across the
bottom and up the other side of the ravine the Thunderbolt turns around
before...
...sending you right back down
into the bottom of the ravine.
