The All American Triple Loop has quite the history.
It was designed and built for the German showman Rudolph Barth opening
in June of 1984. It traveled the German fair circuit as Dreier
Looping, which means "triple loop" until 1997 when it was sold to
Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia. In 2000 it moved to England where it
ran as "Magnum Force" at Flamingoland. In 2007 it moved to Mexico
City where it ran as "Quimera" at Aztlan Parque Urbano. It ran
there until 2019.
In late 2020 Quimera started to be taken down and loaded on trucks
for a move to Indiana. When the coaster ran in Mexico at Aztlan Parque Urbano the park did
not properly maintain the coaster which unfortunately resulted in an accident
when one of the cars derailed. With that last bit of history it is no
surprise that Indiana Beach took their time making sure that the ride
was fixed and safe before opening it to the public.
Being a portable coaster there is a lot squeezed into a really small
footprint. With the design calling for the lift to wrap around a
hundred and righty degrees as it climbed obviously a traditional chain
list wouldn't work as the chain links only pivot on one axis. To
get around this design challenge Anton Schwarzkopf designed a system of
tires that are all connected to an engine that push the train up All
American Triple Loop's lift hill before gravity takes over.
Following All-American Triple Loop's
hundred and eleven foot tall lift is a wickedly
spiraling first plunge.
