The big addition for 2011 at Indiana Beach is the Adventure Point
area of the park. Adventure Point is located where the old Falling
Star and Himalaya used to sit out on the point. The Himalaya now sits
between the Hurricane and Steel Hawg and by the looks of it the Falling
Star will eventually end up behind Steel Hawg once they put it all back
together.
The centerpiece of Adventure Point is the ropes course.
There are a variety of different obstacles you can cross up in the two levels
of the ropes course. Both Bond and I did most of them of course walking
on a single wire is my least favorite. That's where the thought "Yep
I'm going to die" runs through your head again and again.
This is really a great addition to the park. When it was announced
Indiana Beach was going to charge almost thirty dollars more for an Adventure
Point daily pass which seems a bit much. Thankfully when we were there
they had a promotion where you got access to Adventure Point free with the
regular Indiana Beach ride pass. Honestly I wouldn't pay extra for
this but having this wrapped up with the regular rides is a good deal and
the whole area is a great place for the family to do together.
