Indiana Beach Monticello, Indiana 1999 Page Five
Indiana Beach has a nice collection of rides like this Sea Dragon and a Falling Star, Big Wheel, Scrambler, Chaos, Ski Lift, Parachute ride and many others.
Here's a nice panoramic shot from the Big Wheel the Mountain looking structure in the left middle is their Lost Mine dark ride/coaster. On the lake side they have several stunt and ski shows during the day. They also offer paddlewheel boat trips out into the lake. I need to take one of these next year so that I can get some far off shots especially at night with the lights.
Here's a shot from the sky ride looking towards the end of the peninsula. The building in the foreground is the Den of Lost Thieves a dark ride where you have a gun and as you go through the ride you have various targets to shoot at for points. It's fun to try and out shoot your car mate. This was originally a dark ride that scared you. My sister rode it many times during our 1979 visit and one scene was where the car came around a turn and suddenly a Mack truck with headlights and horn came on scaring the wits out of you! Most of this ride is up on the second floor built over several restaurants and stores since space is limited here. If you get the chance head on down to an old time boardwalk in the middle of the country. It's one of the Midwest's best kept secrets.
