As I am almost to the back of the park I might as well go all the
way back there for a few rides on Thunderbird.
Thunderbird is still my favorite of the Bolliger & Mabillard wing
coasters.
One of the things that makes it tops is the amazing zero to sixty miles
an hour launch out of the barn before soaring up into the sky.
With nothing above you and nothing beneath your dangling feet wing
coasters like Thunderbird offer such a free feeling.
That feeling of just flying is one of the most amazing sensations.
Human beings may not have wings but the dream of flight has been with us
from the dawn of time. Throughout history you can see all of the
different ways man has tried to take flight from balloons to gliders all
the way up to the Wright Brothers first successful flight at Kitty Hawk
in 1903. While Thunderbird might not really be flight it gives
twenty riders that feeling for the minute and eighteen second duration
of the ride.
