I do have an admission to make. The real reason for our
visiting Holiday World was not for the coasters...it was for Bond's
girlfriend. He and Charlotte went to kindergarten and first grade out
by Santa Claus and then lost track when we moved to Illinois. Thanks to the internet and
cell phones she tracked him down, we have taken a few trips back to
Southern Indiana to see her,
she and her parents have taken a few trips out here to Illinois to see
him. Then there were proms
and almost a year later here we are.
I do have to say that whoever you are if you find a girl who is awesome
enough to throw up the horns while on a coaster...she is a keeper.
With The Voyage behind is it was time to get our Thunderbird on.
I have to say that here in 2017 during Thunderbird's third season I am still
shocked that there is not just a B&M here in little old Holiday
World but a one of a kind world class one at that.
I just go back to my first visit in 1998 where there was just The Raven
and Holiday World was a very little family park.
I spent my first at Holiday World riding The Raven non stop when I
wasn't riding The Banshee, Frightful Falls, Scarecrow Scrambler, Raging
Rapids and the Eagle's Flight which along with Paul Revere's Midnight
Ride (a spinner that I can't handle) constituted the parks entire lineup
of thrill rides back then.
