Of course Santa Claus was at Thunderbird's Media Preview Day as a
special guest. Bond had a few requests for next Christmas for him.
Rides are great but throw in a bunch of friends and it all gets even better.
That is why I was thrilled when Billy decided to come on down and join us
for a day of more than a few rides on Thunderbird.
Having known pretty much everyone at the park back when we lived down the
road from Holiday World we always run into an old friend whenever we visit.
We have known Casey since he was a high school kid running rides during
summer break. He was always one of Bond's favorite ride operators
on the Indian River Canoe, Dancer's Fish or the long gone Kiddy Castle.
We got to know him as a ride operator and even took a few trips to Six Flags
Kentucky Kingdom. Casey spent the day
carrying Bond around the park on his back. It has been a while
and instead of running rides Casey has moved up and works in IT at Holiday
World and I'd seriously doubt he could carry Bond around a park on his back
as Bond has grown up quite a bit.
As with most events where we find a bunch of fellow coaster enthusiasts
and friends the cycle is always ride, talk a bunch and then ride again.
