Before the evening ride session was to begin Bond and I decided to
take a train ride on the Freedom Train. Unfortunately after sixty
some years of service Holiday World's first ride was taken out of service
in 2013 and with a new train encircling Holidog's Fun Town came a new name.
It is now the Holidog Express.
New train, new name, same cheesy but fun nursery rhymes as you go along
on the train.
I have always liked these giant sculptures and statues because they are
so campy and Americana-ish which is a great little reminder of Holliday
World's humble beginning as a roadside attraction back in 1946 when it was
Santa Claus Land.
The old lady who lived in a shoe is one of my favorites from around the
Freedom Train, I mean Holidog Express ride.
For our evening's food and festivities down in Holiday World's picnic grove
the park continued to go all out "Back to the Future" with an "Enchantment
Under The Sea" dance just like in the first BTTF. Don't worry there
were no injuries and everyone survived because I kept clear of the dance
floor and d1d absolutely no dancing.
