Everyone just mingled around and hopped in the seat whenever it was
open. Here's Kat and Jackson giving the Timberliner car a test ride.
Unfortunately with any brand new design there is a period of breaking in
when all the bugs get worked out. With The Voyage being by far the
most intense wooden coaster on the planet the brake in period for the Timberliners
turned into a bit longer than expected. It's almost August as I write
this and I wouldn't look to see these running this year. Still I have
no problem waiting because these really are the first totally new design
for a wooden coaster train since the 1950's. I know some of you are
going to point at GCI's Millennium Flyer trains like those on the Kentucky
Rumbler or Prowler but those are just an updated Prior & Church train
from the 1920's. An example of how big a leap forward these trains
are going to be it's like going from propeller planes to jets. It's
quite a leap and I will gladly wait for Holiday World and the Gravity Group
to perfect them.
Bond gives the Timberliners a big thumb up.
There were always people milling around the Timberliners, kind of like it
was a work of art at some cocktail party. What was funny was that
I'm certain that there were at least a couple of people who never rode at
all during the event, they just kept checking out the car.
We rode, and rode a lot. Then we were off to a super secret location
for the -G hot tub party Friday night where several of us stayed up way
too late before getting up way too early for the morning exclusive wet time
in Splashin' Safari.
